PhotoFast i-FlashDrive (16GB) Review
There aren’t many people that buy a tablet, phone and PC from the same brand, for example: you have a Galaxy S4, an Ipad Air and a HP laptop. It’s not a tricky job to transfer files from one device to another, but with the new PhotoFast i-FlashDrive (16GB) things get a lot easier. This handy flash drive goes for 169.99$ and it’s offering connectors for USB, microUSB, Apple’s 30-pin and Lighting.
The design is not what you would call revolutionary. The middle part has on one side a microUSB connector and on the other side a 30-pin Apple one. As you can see in the picture the USB 2.0 plug adapter comes on the microUSB’s side while the Lighting plug (for new iPads and iPhones) comes on the left side (as looking at the image). Unfortunately the casing is made out of a cheap plastic so it’s easily breakable and you will also find yourself searching for the plugs considering that the manufactures won’t give you a place to store them.
i-FlashDrive’s performance is poor, keep in mind that it’s a 170$ storage device. With the price of 10.62$ per GB, the writing (4.6 Mb/s) and reading(32.1 Mb/s) speed aren’t enough. It’s true that is a 2.0 connection, and i don’t know about you, but I’m not going to spend this amount of money for a USB stick with less then poor performances.
In conclusion, even though it fills in a gap between smartphones, tablets and PCs i can’t say this device should be on your wish list simply because the price and the specifications are not proportional.
