Corsair Flash Voyager GTX 128GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive Review

In the summer, rarely, new products are being launched, but from time to time, we find a flash drive which we need to test in order to appreciate if the fuss is for an adequate USB stick or it’s just fuss… Corsair Flash Voyager GTX 128 GB 3.0 is one item of which we kept on hearing and so, i decided to test it. But, before we get into details like design and performance, there are a few things that need to be stated, two to be more exact. First of all, the price is a little high, considering the flash’s features, $129.99 and second of all, the TRIM and SMART command support are almost useless…

The design, as you can see in the two pictures, isn’t quite special…the shape is cylindrical, the color is black and a few red stripes can be noticed at the edges. The front of the drive contains the Corsair logo, and the name of the model. Also, at the back of the USB stick we identify a loop which allows you to secure Flash Voyager GTX and the 3.0 connector is protected by a cap… Not much of a design therefore not much to tell…

The performance section is the one that let the manufactures raise the price a little bit. In order to measure the sequentials, i used IOMeter and the results were astonishing, the reading speed reaching 413 MB/s, while the writing one came close to 192 MB/s.

Overall, this device may not be the prettiest, but it certainly is the fastest, even though it’s a bit pricey.
